Meek Mill is motivated by Philadelphia Eagles Superbowl Bid
Meek Mill releases a statement on "Dreams & Nightmares" becoming The Eagles Anthem. After the triumph against the Minnesota Vikings, The Eagles blasted "Dreams & Nightmares" during their celebration. Now the fan favorite has become the team song.
While Meek Mill is behind bars, he's still getting updates on what's happening on the outside. After hearing about the Eagles big win over the weekend, the rapper released a statement to Bleacher Report on the team using the intro of his debut album as a celebratory anthem for them.
"It really lifted my spirit to hear the team rally around my songs because that's why I make music - to inspire others and bring people together," Meek told Bleacher Report and NBCSports Philadelphia in a statement. "The Eagles have also motivated me with the way they've overcome tough situations and injuries to succeed this year."
Despite the petitions and protest by fans and peers for the rapper's release, Meek Mill has continued to serve his time. The rapper's been visited by several people in the athletic world including the 76er's co-owner who's been visiting the rapper frequently and has also been trying to help the rapper develop a legal strategy for his release.
Meek Mill has also had visits from Colin Kaepernick, James Harden, Al Sharpton, Joel Embiid and many other high profile figures in sport entertainment.
